Palin’s daughter gets pregnant, chooses life

Well, that’s kind of a bombshell: Sarah Palin’s daughter is pregnant. Guess that absolutely positively shoots down the weird pregnancy smear. Will this hurt her politically? I’m thinking not. Nor should it. Unplanned teen pregnancy is not unheard of in this country. Any family could face this crisis, even conservative Christian families. I’ve known some myself. The question is: how do you deal with it?

Bristol Palin is not going to abort her unborn child. She’s going to keep the baby and marry the father. Good for her. It shouldn’t have happened, but it did happen, and now she’s going to do the right thing — the hard thing. Again: good. Mother and child — and father — need support.

I can only imagine how horrible it is to be 17 years old, pregnant, and being called a “harlot” or “a sinner that Christ forgives.” I respect the choices that Bristol and the Palin family are making regarding the baby; however, I question the judgment of someone who would choose to put their 17 year child under such public scrutiny and criticism (justified or not)in order to advance themselves politically and to follow some idealistic concept of the “greater good.” I have 5 kids, too — all daughters — and never, ever would I purposely subject them to what Bristol now has to undergo. And its going to be really hard for Sarah to “be there” for her when she’s campaigning for VP!Just makes me wonder about Sarah Palin’s judgment or lack thereof…

Sarah knew what she was going to be putting her daughter through by accepting.

Did she really think that blaming liberals for the inevitable attention to this affair would excuse sending Bristol through a terrible trial?

I don’t believe that she could be either that cruel or that stupid – she’s obviously quite intelligent, although poorly informed on many issues.

Something else, something weird is at work here.

Oh and did you know Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party, which advocates Alaska seceding from the USA?

One of their stated goals is to “infiltrate the major parties to achieve this goal.”

It’ll make the oil companies’ live a lot easier.

    So much for “Country First”
