Satire: Palin blames media for daughter’s pregnancy

Coming out on the offensive after giving a rousing convention speech, GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said that the media are to blame for making her daughter Bristol pregnant.

“My husband and I are well aware that Bristol is pregnant, and we know who made her that way — the media,” she told reporters in a small town somewhere in America.

Palin went on to say that it was now up to the media to “do the right thing and marry her.”

Moments after the governor’s statement, the National Enquirer said that it would marry Bristol Palin in exchange for exclusive rights to the wedding photos and the first pictures of the baby.

The Enquirer’s proposal was just one of several positive developments for Palin, who today picked up the endorsement of Unplanned Parenthood.

In other campaign news, Sen. John McCain blasted the inexperience of his Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama, arguing that Obama has never been the mayor of a 5,000-person town.

McCain claimed that his Democratic opponent would be “at a loss” when faced with the challenges of running a 5,000-person municipality in Alaska.

“Let’s say a constituent calls you and says that a caribou has wandered onto his front lawn,” he said. “My friends, Barack Obama wouldn’t know what to do.”

Kind of weird to announce a fake prenancy, then blame the media for making it up. My God, this woman loves attention.

My Friends(tm), During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running
this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been
pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had
gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had
given rise to a recall campaign.
